It is of two types-
1.    Natural immunity or Innate immunity or non-specific immunity
2.    Acquired immunity or specific immunity

INNATE IMMUNITY
It is defined as the inborn capacity of the body to resist the pathogens (If organism enter the body like toxic substance, virus, bacteria) it eliminates them before the development of disease.

 ACQUIRED IMMUNITY
It is defined as the resistance developed in the body against any specific body. It is also known as specific immunity.
Lymphocytes are responsible for acquired immunity.
Types of Acquired immunity:-
          Cellular immunity and Humoral immunity
Development and processing of lymphocytes:-
Lymphocytes are developed from bone marrow. All the lymphocytes are released in circulation and are differential into two categories –
1.The lymphocyte design to develop the cellular immunity migrate into thymus gland and are transformed into T-lymphocyte.

2.The lymphocyte design to develop the humoral immunity are processed in liver and bone marrow and are transformed into B-lymphocyte.
